What a daily digest actually is

A daily digest is an automated summary sent each morning (or evening) that gives your team a snapshot of the previous day's activity. For a support team, it might show: tickets opened, closed, SLA breaches, CSAT scores, and any tickets still pending over 24 hours. For an engineering team: issues closed, issues opened, any critical bugs logged, and sprint burn-down status.

The digest pulls data automatically — nobody writes it. It lands in Slack or email at 8:30am. Everyone reads it before they start work. The morning meeting either becomes much shorter (since everyone has context already) or gets cancelled entirely.

What to include in a support team digest

💡 The "Attention Needed" section is the most important part. The whole digest could be summarised as a single number, but specific flagged items require immediate action from a named person. This section turns the digest from information into instructions.

Setting up the digest: two approaches

Approach 1: Use your helpdesk/issue tracker's built-in reports

Resolvo generates daily email reports automatically — configure the metrics you want, set the delivery time, and choose recipients. No coding required. Takes 5 minutes to set up.

Approach 2: Automated Slack post

If your team lives in Slack, set up a scheduled message that pulls from your helpdesk's API. Resolvo has webhook support — the digest can post directly to a #support-digest or #engineering-digest channel at 8:30am every morning.

Making the digest actually get read

Three things make digests get ignored: too much information, no clear action items, sent at the wrong time.
